Selecting

Click	Select a point, a handle, a component, or an anchor.
Shift-click	Extend the selection.
Drag on empty canvas	Marquee.
Cmd+A / Cmd+Alt+A	Select or deselect every point.
Tab / Shift+Tab	Step the selection through the glyph’s points in contour order.

Moving

Drag a point	Move it. A handle on a smooth point travels with it.
Drag a handle	Reshape the segment.
Arrow keys	Nudge. Hold a modifier for the larger step.
Drag a sidebearing edge	Change spacing without touching the outline.
Double-click a component	Open the glyph it points at.

For an exact move or scale, use the Coordinates panel. Pick a reference point on the nine-point grid. X and Y move the selection so the reference lands there; W and H scale about it.

Click to place a corner point. Click and drag to place a point and pull its outgoing handle out of it. Click the first point of the contour to close it.

Leave a contour open and it stays open. That is the starting point for the monoline workflow: draw open skeletons, then use Expand Stroke to turn them into letterforms. See Paths and Filters.

Draws hyperbezier contours: curves defined by the points you place, with the control points solved rather than positioned by hand. Fewer things to hold, and the curvature stays continuous by construction.

Path → Hyperbezier to Cubic converts a hyperbezier contour into ordinary cubic segments. With nothing selected it converts every hyperbezier contour in the glyph. Do that before handing a source to a tool that expects plain cubics.

Drag a rectangle or an ellipse. Hold shift to constrain it to a square or a circle.

Drag a line across the outline to cut it. Hold shift to lock the cut to an axis.

Drag a line to measure across the glyph. Hold shift to lock it to an axis.

The Measure section appears in the right panel while the tool is active.

Measure options

Colorize outline	Tints the outline by thickness, so uneven weight is visible rather than inferred.
Handle lengths	Labels every handle.
Segment lengths	Labels every segment.
Stems and counters	Measures the black and the white.
Side bearings	Shows them on the canvas.
Sums	Running totals across the measure line.

Labels dodge each other rather than stacking, so a dense glyph stays readable.

Type, and the font lays out as real text with kerning applied. Click a glyph in the line to edit it in place, with its neighbours around it.

Text handles bidirectional scripts. Arrow keys move the caret visually, so left means left on screen in Arabic and Hebrew. See Text and Shaping.

Hides points, handles, and metric guides, so you see the shapes alone.
